WHAT'S COVERED

Agile Project Management is packed with everything that Project Managers need to know to successfully launch, run and optimize agile projects.

Understanding complex systems and how agile ways of working can be applied to mitigate risk is a crucial starting point for effective agile project management.

In this chapter we'll explore complexity models like Cynefin, different delivery modes, and how the manager's role needs to change in agile environments.

Shifting from managing people to managing systems is a fundamental skill for agile Project Managers.

In these lessons we'll explore value stream, optimizing for fast feedback, managing dependencies, and effectively using a Definition of Done.

Establishing effective governance and contracts is an essential prerequisite for agile delivery success.

In these lessons we'll dive into contract types, agile governance, using constraints effectively, and much more.

Building high-performing agile teams is perhaps the most important function you can perform as an Agile Project Manager.

In these lessons we'll explore models of team formation, effective communication, chartering and much more.

At a fundamental level, agile  is about delivering the right solution, to the right person at the right time.

In these lessons we unpack incremental delivery, stakeholder identification, constraints and much more.

Planning in an agile environment looks quite different from traditional planning.

In these lessons we'll explore understanding and implementing adaptive planning at multiple levels, from vision down to daily planning. We'll also dive into how to adjust plans based on new information.

Too many projects fall into the trap of relying on vanity metrics that offer little insight into the health of their project.

In our final lessons we'll dive into developing a balanced dashboard of metrics, relating value and scope, balancing predictability and flexibility and much more.

Meet Your Instructor

In 2006 I read the Agile Manifesto for the first time and it changed my career. Before Agile was even “a thing”, I saw how working in small batches, fast feedback, and shipping often was key.

From that point on, I became dedicated to helping teams and organizations become faster, nimbler and more adaptive. Across my 30 year career I’ve worked with startups, non-profits, state and local governments and fortune 100 enterprises to get real results with agile.

But it hasn't all been rainbows and lollipops.

I’ve made plenty of mistakes and seen agile fail miserably. Today I look back on these blunders with gratitude, because they gave me the wisdom needed to move beyond the theory of agile and really get results.

And I've distilled what I've learned into the fastest most effective way to earn the ICP-APM certification.

The problem with instructor-led courses is that you're not in control. You have to learn at the instructor's pace and you have no ability to go back and refresh yourself on the material after the class ended.

With our course, you can complete the lessons when it's most relevant to your work and go back and review whenever you need to.

By integrating the learning into your flow of work, it becomes far more relevant, timely and effective.
